Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed To Reverse Global Warming
April 2017
Research conducted as Research Fellow formed the basis of Drawdown. This book presents and ranks the solutions based on their climatological impact in a non-technical manner, intended for general audiences
- Spoke on behalf of Project Drawdown at the 2015 Bioneers conference
- Presented key wave and tidal research findings and answered audience questions
- Analyzed numerical weather model wind simulations in conjunction with observed wind patterns to improve wind forecasts
- Generated wind power density maps of Wyoming to determine the dominant modes of variability of the wind
- Ran custom Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) models
- Performed rigorous statistical analysis and calculated FFT spectra of observational and model datasets
- Co-authored a combination research article and how-to guide explaining how to assess the feasibility of installing a residential wind turbine in Wyoming
- Primarily intended for lay audiences
American Geophysical Union (AGU) Science Policy Conference
May 2012
Variability Of The Wind Resource In Wyoming (Poster)
- Attended the inaugural AGU Science policy conference in Washington DC on behalf of the UW Dept of Atmospheric Science and the UW Wind Energy Research Center
- Presented a poster of MS research to both policymakers and scientists
- Sponsored by Provisur Technologies, AMCaR was a proof-of-concept prototype that automatically removed the cellulose casing from deli meat before commercial packaging, saving time, energy and money
- Product is deposited into a trough, resting atop suction cups; a small knife slits through the casing and product rolls down, unraveling itself from the casing
- Programmed a Nintendo Wii Remote to wirelessly interact with solenoids attached to an electric guitar. By swinging the Wii Remote in a strumming motion, the user was able to wirelessly play an electric guitar
- Documented progress and procedures on NU Mechatronic's Wiki
